Getting started with Petronyx
From a new workspace to your first reconciled shift, in the order that avoids rework.
Petronyx keeps every station on one record: what is in the tanks, what the meters sold, what the cashier took and what the manager approved. Getting started is mostly about describing your forecourt accurately once, so every later number is calculated rather than typed.
Before you begin
- Your company's legal name, tax number and address.
- For each station: tanks with capacity and fuel grade, pumps, and which nozzle draws from which tank.
- Current selling price per fuel grade.
- Opening meter readings for every nozzle and an opening dip for every tank.
- Names and email addresses of the staff who will use Petronyx.
The path to your first shift
- Get your workspace
Your company gets its own workspace when your onboarding request is approved. The owner receives a sign-in email with a temporary password and is asked to set a new one on first sign-in.
- Complete the setup wizard
The wizard walks through your company profile, stations, fuel grades, tanks, pumps and nozzles, pricing, payment methods, shifts, roles and staff. Progress is saved per step, so you can stop and continue later.
- Invite your team
Send email invitations from the Staff step or later from Team. Each invite carries a role and the stations that person can work on.
- Open the first shift
Start a shift from a template, record opening readings, and let the team trade. Deliveries, takings and closing readings attach to that shift.
- Close and review
Closing compares meter sales with tank dips and declared takings with expected sales. Resolve or approve any variance, then close.
Where to go next
Read the setup wizard guide for what each step needs, then the stock sheet guide to understand how variance is calculated before your first close.
